Get to know Geoboi, retro games miniconsole made with Raspberry Pi

The new creation of Swedish designer Love Hultén combines technology with a hint of nostalgia. Dubbed Geoboi, the retro-styled gaming console was developed using a Raspberry Pi, a compact and powerful single-board low-cost hardware, and a portable RetroPie gaming station, which is nothing more than a design designed to withstand video game consoles like Atari 2600, Game Boy, Nintendinho, Nintendo 64 and Mega Drive, just to name a few.

As with other artist’s creations, the Geoboi was designed and assembled by Hultén himself at his studio located in Gothenburg, Sweden. The result is irresistible and still allows the monitor and joystick to be engaged when not in use. In the video below you check out Geoboi in action:

Love Hultén has its trademark in projects that mix the most traditional in manual work with the most modern in technology giving life to unique objects. His idea is to present genuine and attractive alternatives to the contemporary devices of minimalist design and often without charm, always betting on unforeseen functionalities and elaborate performances.

It is worth mentioning that some of the projects of Love Hultén are for sale and can be bought to order. To find out more about the artist and other original creations that are part of his portfolio, be sure to visit the Swedish designer’s website.
